Black Redstart

Photograph courtesy of MJP:

After frustratingly and fleetingly glimpsed what I thought felt like a Black Redstart yesterday on farm buildings at Everton Heath, this one this morning at Portobello Farm, Sutton, was a little more obliging, (photo courtesy of SCB here):

Glad others saw it, as usually my finds are in the arse-end-of-nowhere!

  1. Too little too late, I'm afraid mate. Lovely bird, but not quite of the standard of Lesser Grey Shrike, Barred Warbler, Long-tailed Duck, Great Skua, etc. More evidence for my argument that enhanced points should be awarded according to absolute rarity of the species in the county.

Anyway, gird your swords gentlemen, as the last seven weeks promises to be interesting!
